Duo Actuál comes from Catania, Sicily, and was founded in 2025 by guitarist Mario Scirè and vibraphonist / percussionist José Mobilia. Both musicians come from a long individual experience in chamber music, which has brought them to perform across Europe and the Mediterranean area. As Duo Actuál, they explore the rare combination of classical guitar and vibraphone, with a focus on contemporary repertoire and new works. Their debut project, Sudamericana, creates a dialogue between South American and European musical traditions through music by Astor Piazzolla, Ney Rosauro, Javier Contreras and new compositions dedicated to the duo by Armando Lôbo and Joe Schittino. At the Brno Festival, Duo Actuál will present a special Brazil Contemporary Edition of the project, entirely dedicated to Brazil, featuring works by Sérgio Assad, Armando Lôbo and Ney Rosauro, including the Czech premiere of Assad’s Três Lendas Brasileiras for guitar and vibraphone.
